The Taubert family – Jana and Enrico Taubert with their children Aaron, Amalia and Ari.
Since 2005 we have been successfully renting out our three holiday homes in Freyburg in the Burgenlandkreis in southern Saxony-Anhalt.
The vineyard was once cultivated by the champagne factory. Wine was grown and the vineyard house served as a shelter.
Later it was used as a residence for a Freyburg family with nine children.
In 1887, phylloxera came to the Saale-Unstrut region and brought winegrowing to a near standstill. The last time wine was grown in the mountains was in 1910.
After 1945, winegrowing could only survive through amateur winegrowers. Wine was last grown in the mountain itself in the 1980s.
Until 2004, the mountain and its vineyard house were privately owned as a weekend home. In 2005, we acquired the property and began to cultivate it. However, this failed because storms damaged the vines and made some of the vineyard terraces unusable for the time being.
We began to prepare the vineyard house for holiday guests and the first guests moved into the house for the 2005 wine festival.
In 2008, the "Große Reblaus" and outbuildings were converted for holiday guests. The holiday home "Riesling" has been available to our guests since 2022.
